HARRY POTTER Reading-Diary #4

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
First entry:
Pages 1-128

Before reading: After reading the first part of the series I honestly couldn’t wait to get to this part. I wanted to continue right away, but the moments of reading this series for the first time are much too precious to “waste” it in one or two months. So I am going to read one per month, and I am so excited that it finally is November, so that I can continue with this beautiful series.

The first chapter just made me hate the Durselys even more. I mean yeah, I kind of get their intentions, but not really. There is no way you have to treat a person so horribly.

In the second chapter, however, we met a quite interesting character. I heard a lot of things about Dobby the house-elf, and unfortunately I was spoiled on what is going to happen with him, but it was nice nevertheless to meet him for the first time. I didn’t really get his motives though, but that will be clarified soon, I guess.

But please, can we talk about the Weasleys for a second? Aren’t they the greatest family ever? Yeah they are, and you know it. First of all: Ron, Fred and George risked a lot when they saved Harry, and I just love their friendship with Harry. They love him, they are his first real friends, and you can really feel that they would do anything so save Harry anywhere, anytime. I bet everyone just wants such friends (and a flying car, I mean, let’s be real). But also Ron’s parents are amazing. Again, you can see that they really care a lot about Harry, which is amazing to see. I would give anything to live with the Weasleys, also if they have some flaws, they are the most lovable people on the whole planet.

In contrast to the Malfoys. I despise them. They weren’t so bad before, I didn’t mind Draco and his father, but what Mr. Malfoy said to Mr. Weasley CANNOT BE FORGIVEN. Nobody insults my Arthur without being hated by me. N O B O D Y.

But something is wrong with this Lockhart guy, right? I’m not sure, he is too fake in my opinion. We will see what will happen. But his obsession with being famous, and giving interviews and stuff like that seems too fake. And I am also pretty sure that he isn’t even a great wizard or anything. He probably can’t even do magic, and I hate it that everyone likes him. Like, don’t you see that there is something wrong with him?

In the last chapter we learn that Draco Malfoy is now the seeker of the Slytherin Quiditch team, and it really makes me angry. His father annoyed me in the earlier chapters as well, but how he acts like is just disgusting right now. I don’t know if it will get better by the time, but right now, just NOPE.
