HARRY POTTER Reading-Diary #3

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
Third entry: pages 236-334

I KNEW that there was something wrong with that turban guys, I TOLD YOU. But let's start from the beginning okay? The fact that Snape wasn't the one who was harming Harry, but Quirrel just made me happy instantly. You go, Snape. Him and Harry's father both liked Lily, right? So he should take care of Harry, like he did as we saw. And I loved that.
Hagrid is still my favourite though. "I shouldn't have said that. I should NOT have said that." Ohhh Hagrid, we love you thought. But that whole Hagrid and dragon thing was kind of weird, wasn't it? How could he assume that it would be normal that someone just walks around with a dragon egg in his pocket? Although I didn't know that it was Voldi in the end then I knew there was something wrong with that.

But can we talk about the puzzles please? They were amazing. And considering these kids are eleven it's pretty impressive that they solved them thus quickly. And I am so impressed by Ron's chess game. And Hermione's logic puzzle was even worse, I can tell you. They could've known that it was Quirrel who let the troll in though, just because of Snape's puzzle. Quirrel was the only one who was left. But let’s be honest, you could almost call this book “Harry Potter and the year Hermione did everything.”

Dumbledore is amazing too, though. Oh you thought Slytherin wins the house-cup? NOPE, not with Dumbledore. He gonna change that game. I loved that he rewarded even Neville, for his bravery and courage. He was someone who really deserved it, and I think that he will develop so much in the next books, I can already tell.

Overall thoughts, feels, and opinion:
Why haven’t I read Harry Potter before you might ask? Well …
I wasn’t lucky enough to be able to read Harry Potter when I was a child, and then I kind of lost sight of it. I forgot that it was such a big thing until I got into tumblr and Fandoms. Then I didn’t want to read it anymore because I got spoiled for so many things, but sometimes you just have to make sacrifices, right? So I jumped into it, and I LOVED IT.
Where was this all my life? I loved every single page. (Well maybe not the first 100, bit definitely the other ones.) The characters are AKA-MAZING and perfect and the writing is perfect and the plot too i just can't, honestly. I wanna buy all these books immediately, but i will try to keep it low with the buying. Christmas is coming.
Although I never read this book before, it somehow felt like coming home, does that make any sense? Only one book in and I already fell like Hogwarts is my second home. I even planned a trip to the Harry Potter Wizarding World, that’s how deep I am in the Fandom already, lol.

HARRY POTTER Reading-Diary #2

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Second entry: Pages 126-235

The sorting-hat scene was definitely one of my favourite. It was so interesting to see what the different houses stand for, and it made me curious, so I did the sorting hat quiz myself!
Here is the link to the quiz I did:
http://www.gotoquiz.com/pottermore_sorting_hat_quiz_2

Here is my result:

Ravenclaw: 83%
“Congratulations! Welcome to RAVENCLAW HOUSE. Our emblem is the eagle, which soars where others cannot fly; our house colours are blue and bronze. We pride ourselves on intelligence, creativity, individuality, wit and learning, and our common room is found at the top of Ravenclaw tower, behind a door with an enchanted knocker.
Traits: Intelligence, wit, creativity, imaginative, curiosity, individuality and eccentricity.“

Gryffindor: 77%
Slytherin: 55%
Hufflepuff: 40%

Well, so I guess the question on which house I belong to is out of the way now.

But can we talk about the meal they have at Hogwarts the first day? I really want to be part of that. The floating candles would be amazing to see, I wish this would exist in real life.

Professor Snape was introduced in these chapters too. I know that Snape is loved by a lot of characters, but right now he is just annoying me. I do know a bit of his back-story, so I kind of know what’s going to happen, but he doesn’t have to treat Harry this way.

And let’s talk about Quidditch. Right now I can actually say that I know more about Quidditch than I know about soccer. And it’s just a much more interesting sport in general, isn’t it? I would give a lot to see one game live, honestly. Reading only this one chapter about Quidditch I already could feel the excitement the people in Hogwarts feel about their sport. I love it.

But I kind of felt like the two houses Gryffindor and Slytherin just get much more attention than the other ones. Will this stay that way? Because I would LOVE to have some focus on the other houses, especially on Ravenclaw, now that I know that this is the house I would belong to.

The characters already developed a bit in these chapters actually. I loved how the friendship on Harry, Ron and Hermione starts to grow now. I loved it when Hermione lied for Ron and Harry, and how it just brought them all closer. They are going to be an epic trio.
But also Draco seems to be a good “villain” as far as it seems.
But what’s up with that turban professor? Is it what I think it is?

The Christmas scene was just magical (yeah, I know, but it’s true!). When I imagine how Hogwarts must look like around Christmas time I just want to be there right now and stay there forever. The candles, the decoration, the meals, everything just seems perfect. And can we also talk about the presents? And how Ron is the best friend ever? His mother made a pullover for Harry, how much love and caring does this one gesture show? (Side note: I also want such a sweater. For me with an A on it, pretty please.) And the other presents were amazing too. The fact that also Hermione gave the boys something for Christmas just warms my heart. Really, right now I want nothing more than celebrating Christmas in Hogwarts pretty please.

The last scene was the mirror scene (it is called ERISED in English, right?) It was so sad to see Harry and his parents and family together and to learn that it shows you what your heart desires. It breaks my heart that Harry will probably never get his wish granted.
But can we talk about Dumbledore? His statement was hilarious. Just give this old man some socks, jeez.

HARRY POTTER Reading-Diary #1

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
First entry:
Pages 1-125

If you despise the Dursleys as much as I do clap your hands. Honestly, what even? Yeah, I remember that they were bad, but not THAT bad. I know there will be much worse characters throughout the series, but these people just make me angry as hell. I don't even get their problem, and I hate people who just treat a person badly, although it’s not even that persons fault. No matter which reason you have, this is just wrong.

But I loved the Hogwarts letters. You throw them away? Nah, we're just going to send you 1000 more then. And of course, Hagrid is here to save the day. I mean, who doesn't love Hagrid, right? He is awesome! His word choice is hilarious as well, I just love him already.

Seeing Harry and Hagrid buying all these magical things just gets me so excited as well. I want all these things. I want a Hogwarts uniform, I want a wand, I want everything. Can I just be a wizard please? That’d be great.

Another thing which is amazing, is meeting all the “new” charactersagain, or seeing how they meet Harry. Ron, Fred, George, Hermione, Draco, Neville, each and every one is so lovable already, I just can't handle it.

And can we talk about the Hogwarts Express? Where was mine on September 1st? How about I just imagine that the train which takes me to University every day is the Hogwarts Express? Yeah let's do that! And the treats they sold are amazing. Give me some of these chocolate frogs, please! I need to collect these cards.

These few 100 pages made me feel so fuzzy and warm, and although I never even read these books, it felt like home when they arrived at Hogwarts. It's strange, I know, but I love it so far. It's amazing.
And now please excuse me, I need some tea and some chocolate.
